Fire destroys evaporating building at Strasburg plant
Fire wrecked the large evaporating building of the National Fruit Product Company in Strasburg Virginia causing about 20000 dollars in losses with insurance. Fire began shortly after 4 00 am in apple storage and spread before suppression but the rest of the plant including cider factory canning unit and vinegar tanks were saved by local firefighters. The Martinburg West Virginia plant may take over this season while operations continue at the older site.
