Storekeeper Traps Fire At His Store In Alabama
In Jones Alabama on Sunday November 25 W A Ober protected his general store from a blaze by sealing windows and cracks with sacks then shoving sacks into the chimney to cut drafts. Monroe fire department arrived after a 46 mile run and extinguished the fire in five minutes. Two thirds of the stock was saved.

Coffman Rites Are Conducted in Clifton Forge
Funeral services for Herbert Earl Coffman of Winchester were held at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Staunton with interment at Bridgwater Cemetery. Coffman leaves a widow and two children Ronny and Betty, plus his father L H Coffman of Lofton and several siblings. Betty and Ronny Coffman were only slightly injured. A second funeral was held at the Central Adventist Christian Church near Clifton Forge for Monoral Tatum Dame of Longdale who was fatally injured in the same collision.
