Mass meeting set for Y M C A and War Camp fund
A large mass meeting is planned at the Empire Theater tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock to support the Y M C A and War Camp fund. Corporal T C Pomphrey of the Fourteenth Battalion, First Canadian Division, will speak about Y M C A work at the front. The program includes Rev. Dr. J H Lacy, Rev. George W Stover, and Rev. Dr. W D Smith.

Amos E Marker Dies At Home In Frederick County
James E Marker a longtime county resident and ex Confederate soldier died at his home near Opequon after a long illness. He was about 78 and survived by his wife Miss Whissen two sons John D and Edwin and a daughter Mrs Robert M Henry. He served as deputy sheriff for nearly thirty years and was a Shawnee District school trustee. He was a prominent Methodist and a Democrat active in local affairs.
