General Crowder announces that 16 year olds must be classified and 18 year olds awaiting registration should receive questionnaires. Men aged 36 to 45 who filed but did not complete forms are released from the draft, while youth classifications continue for statistical purposes.

A cable from Lieut Benjamin P Ford confirms he has received his commission. He started as a private at Camp Lee a year ago after leaving Winchester and was quickly promoted to corporal then sergeant. Ford went to France in May and served in frontline trenches in August before entering Officers Training School. He is now attached to Company L 300th Infantry. George E Shepard of this city reports the development.

Newspaper reports three Berkeley County men reported dead in action and another, Private Samuel R. Roberts, missing or captured by Prussians. Alvin Lamp and Adrien C. Hustler from Glengary, both 22, served in a gun company and infantry and died of wounds in October. Roberts, a former Gainesboro resident, was 24 and also in the infantry. Adams, linked to the same town, was killed earlier in France.
