Chevalier dies of injuries after Hampton Roads crash
Lieutenant Commander Godfrey De Chevalier died today at Portsmouth Naval Hospital following a Sunday air crash at Hampton Roads. One of the navy's oldest aviators, he was born in Rhode Island and appointed to the Naval Academy from Massachusetts.

Fire destroys boiler house at Halltown plant
A fire of unknown origin yesterday destroyed the boiler building of the Halltown Paper Board Company in Halltown West Virginia. The blaze damaged the boiler and equipment with an estimated loss of five thousand dollars. The plant cannot operate for a week or ten days. No other buildings ignited and the fire was confined to the structure. The metal frame building helped save other plant structures.

Funeral services were conducted for David Peacemaker of Whitacre Virginia after he died from a paralysis stroke suffered while cutting a tree near his home.
