Venison on Hospital Menu in Winchester Area
Venison will be served at Winchester hospital ahead of the hunting season. A 192 pound 10 point buck was killed on Route 50 near Gore and dressed at the city abattoir for the hospital, marking a second local deer incident that week. Police say George White struck the deer then Ted Miller collided with it, causing over $100 damage to Miller’s car. Car Demolished In Headon Crash Near Kernstown School
A 1941 Pontiac sedan owned by Mrs. Townsend Burwell of Millwood was demolished in a head on collision at River Road eleven near Kernstown school. Everett Kibler suffered a cut nose and forehead as a result of the incident. State Trooper James Kincaid investigated. Bowman's 1942 truck from Stephens City collided with the Burwell car while the driver of the other vehicle reportedly forced Bowman's truck into Kibler's lane. The truck driver fled the scene.
