Work Begins On Route 275 To West Virginia Line
Construction on Route 275 from Route 50 toward the West Virginia line has started after transferring the convict camp from Route 7. Chambers Acquitted in Woman's Death at Matewan
Paul Chambers a 21 year old Matewan man was acquitted of the charge he killed Emma Farley 18 a companion on a car ride. The jury deliberated three hours and 15 minutes as Judge Ferguson stood by to discharge them if no verdict emerged. Miss Farley came from McCarr Kentucky to work at the Matewan Clinic and was found dying on Ohe Creek road after an auto ride.

Woman Found Dead After Masquerade Party in Chestnut Hill
Cecilia Elizabeth Stinemann Davis, 24, mother of four month old twins, was found dead behind bushes after leaving a masquerade party in suburban Chestnut Hill Philadelphia. Coroner Hersch said no violence was found. Her husband Paul A. Davis IV was questioned. the couple wed in October 1937.
