A large number of department and clothing stores will close on Armistice Day this year. Andrew Bell reports strong cooperation from store managers who will honor the day by closing on Monday November 12. Stores will continue to close on future Armistice Days unless the holiday falls on a Saturday. Grocery stores face perishable goods but may join services at 9 30 in Christ Episcopal Church and participate in the eleven o clock parade.

Funeral Rites Held Today For Mrs. Fannie Lewis

Eleven crew members were injured and one missing after an explosion on the tanker Caliche carrying gasoline and oil. Fire raged as Coast Guard and fishing craft battled flames. Captain J. J.
