Maryland Man Hurt When Auto Strikes Truck
A Maryland man, Donald F. Davis, 38, of Catonsville, was injured when his car sideswiped a truck loaded with bricks on 0 S Rt. 7 east of Winchester. The impact spilled bricks, with total damage about 5 700 dollars. Davis was taken to Memorial Hospital for possible chest injuries pending X rays. Woman Treated After Lacerations in Maryland incident

Nurse Bus Crash Kills One and Injures Dozens
A chartered Atlantic Greyhound bus carrying student nurses from Charlotte crashed into a stalled tractor-trailer 15 miles north, killing Clara Jean Dillingham and injuring 32 others with several in critical condition. Ambulances moved victims to Concord and Charlotte hospitals. The bus traveled about 55 mph, rammed the trailer, ripped the cargo of cigarettes, then hit a ditch.
