The Graf Zeppelin lands in Friedrichshafen after a 71 hour 12 minute flight from Lakehurst marking the first round trip trans Atlantic commercial air voyage. John Hopkins Hall reports Virginia factory employment climbs as new industries move from construction to production. Wages in 1927 rose by 29 million over 1926, with 174,680 wage earners in 1927 up from 138,018 in 1926. Virginia benefits from new plants, offsetting national unemployment.

President Coolidge bid Hoover farewell after a White House meeting and a motion picture session on the south portico. Hoover later received a life membership from the Pennsylvania Society Sons of the Revolution and met with the Republican National Committee staff before his California trip.
