Dog evades K-9 test by swimming river to escape
In Chattanooga Tennessee a German Shepherd being tested for the K-9 Corps refused to exit the car. Patrolman Dean Gross chased it as the leash slipped free and the dog leaped into the Tennessee River, swimming a quarter mile to disappear up a distant hillside. Chief Eugene McGovern quipped the dog would make a fine Rescue Squad member if it returns.
