Senior Jerry Turner plans ministry at University of Richmond
Jerry Wayne Turner 18 son of Edwin R and Mrs Turner of 205 West Street will attend the University of Richmond as a ministerial student. He ranked 10th in a 159 member senior class at Handley with a B plus average and was student body president. He participated in plays, glee club, Latin and Spanish choirs, and varsity track earning a varsity letter and a literary award. He belongs to the First Baptist Church and the Winchester Christian Youth group.

Former Winchester mayor Claude B Smalts Jr speaks at 2 p.m. at Winchester National Cemetery with a wreath laying and firing squad salute. A 3 15 p.m. service follows at Shenandoah Memorial Park with V F W 2123 firing squad and Rev T R Tuttle delivering the address. In Berryville Clarke County High School band and honor guard participate. Memorial Day honors servicemen from Civil War to present conflicts and is a legal holiday in many states.

White to Use Spacegun In Trip Outside Gemini
Astronaut Edward H. White II will use a spacegun to drift within about 20 feet of a spent rocket during the Gemini 4 mission. Officials announced the planned space rendezvous as part of the four day flight with James A. McDivitt.
