The Postoffice Department approved extending city delivery limits to many suburban residents. Beginning July 1 subscribers must install a painted RF D mailbox, have house numbers, and request service through postmaster Kern. Two daily deliveries will occur via mounted carriers once criteria are met.

A Virginia student at Columbia urges a daily two minute silence and an empty chair draped in mourning on the convention dais to honor former President Woodrow Wilson. The plan credits an Armenian friend for the chair idea, aiming to capture press and public imagination.
Jack Cook a Berryville barber convicted of selling liquor and jailed for 30 days won a delay with emergency attorney aid. His bail expired, and a stay until next Monday was granted while his lawyer attends a Washington matter. Cook must surrender or show cause for further delay. He already paid fines and costs totaling over 100 dollars.

Harry L. Hoffman, accused of killing Maude Bauer on a Staten Island road, was found guilty of second degree murder. Judge Tiernan sentenced him to 20 years to life in Sing Sing. Hoffman, a motion picture actor, is married with two children. The victim, a young mother, was shot and strangled after her car stalled while driving with her mother and daughter.

Pierre Paul Cambon former French ambassador to London died at his Paris home last night. The longtime diplomat served in Paris before his death on May 28 or 29. He was noted for his influence in Franco British affairs and served in the late 19th to early 20th century.

A late yesterday tornado hit Wetumka and Warner in eastern Oklahoma, killing nine people and injuring more than twenty as about thirty homes in Wetumka were razed and Warner's business district suffered heavy damage. Three Wetumka residents remain unaccounted for while damages reach about $100,000.
