Newly Completed Nine Is Ready In Care pers Valley Golf Club
CO-owners Dr Custer and Lamp lead the opening of an 18 hole course in Care pers Valley after a nine hole start in 1961. Club pro Joe Ragan will tee off with officials to inaugurate the course before a Memorial Day tournament. The project added a second nine holes by 1964 with an irrigation lake and a two acre two years in the making. The club boosts 500 plus member families and emphasizes junior golf instruction run by Ragan.

The 1948 SMU team was penalized 197 yards, the lowest in Southwest Conference history.
