Storm Devastates Albemarle Orchard Belt Near Crozet
A northward hail storm Tuesday afternoon swept across about 15 square miles west and northwest of Crozet damaging apples peaches and other crops. Orchardists estimate losses in the thousands with total regional damage possibly reaching millions over three years of bad yields.
