Charles W. Ramsburg a prominent Winchester merchant former mayor and long time councilman died at his Peyton Street home after a years long illness diabetes listed as cause. Born in Ohio he moved to Winchester 42 years ago built a mercantile career owning Ramsburgs on East Piccadilly and the People’s Bargain Store. He served 12 years as councilman and earlier as mayor. active in Odd Fellows fire company and Presbyterian church. He survived by his widow and two daughters with four brothers and a sister. Funeral set for Sunday afternoon at his home with pastor conducting.
