Grimes farmer shoots self in corn house suicide
John Benner, manager of the Daniel E. Wright farm near Grimes in Frederick county, killed himself with a shotgun in the corn house. Letters left behind cited a married life upset by another man, and Dr. Anderson turned the notes over to Sheriff Pannett. Benner, 45 to 50, was seen earlier in cheerful mood and was found slumped in a pool of blood after the shot. Sheriff to conduct formal inquiry.

James Baker Sentenced in Gaw Laboratory Murder
James Baker, who confessed to killing Hen ry Gaw, a laboratory night watchman at the Jenamy Laboratory, was sentenced today to 40 years to life. He pleaded guilty to second degree murder after police say poison was put in Gaw's coffee during his midnight meal last December. Baker, a former lab employee, was arrested near Detroit and brought back for trial.

In Wheeling West Virginia May 23 two bandits held up a bank cashier s automobile and obtained 10 000 The money was being transferred from Citizens Mutual Bank of Wheeling to Benwood Bank by J W Johnson cashier of the latter institution The bandits wrecked Johnson s car with their own vehicle then threw a tear gas bomb into the automobile and seized the money while Johnson and the driver suffered the effects of the gas.

Lou Miller asked The Star to state he was not with the drinking party when R. H. Hoover died at Memorial Hospital early Monday. Miller says he stood in front of a South Kent street store at 8 pm Sunday while Hoover and others stopped in a car. he spoke briefly with Hoover but did not enter the vehicle and was not with the group at any time.

Woman and Baby Thrown From Car Collision
A collision between a Ford and a Hudson at the Pennsylvania Railroad crossing Amherst Street yesterday afternoon sent an unknown woman and her child from the Hudson car to the roadway. Witnesses say the Hudson was driven by a man from Orange Virginia while the Ford was operated by a local man. The drivers chose to settle the matter and no names were obtained. Little damage resulted to either vehicle.

Triple Murder and suicide on Orchard Farm in Pa
Wilkes-Barre, Pa. May 23 A triple murder and a suicide occurred at the farm of Ernest L. Snyder a 60 year old Harding fruit grower. Airplane Pilot Killed While On Errand of Mercy
Harold Mayer a 25 year old pilot from Chicago was killed when the plane he piloted crashed while attempting to land at Waynetown Indiana.
