May Give Bill Of Sale As Part Loan Security
The production credit association plans to expand loans in Clarke Shenandoah Frederick Warren and Page counties by allowing farmers to buy horses or livestock with a bill of sale as part of the security. Applications go through the usual process with farm property inspection and a letter of credit issued by the association and the Federal Intermediate Credit Bank of Baltimore. The draft for each animal carries a back stamped bill of sale in the association’s favor, enabling purchases and securing repayment. The plan aims to extend credit to farmers and livestock men using livestock as partial security and to support businesslike borrowing.
