Union Soldier Laid to Rest in Strasburg National Cemetery
The body of Allen Lewis Davis, a Union soldier of the 185th New York Infantry, was brought to Winchester and interred at the National Cemetery. Services were held at Strasburg Christian Church by Rev. J. D. Hamaker. Davis, who moved to Strasburg with his wife, was a gun and stock smith and was esteemed for his civic and religious involvement. He is survived by his widow and an adopted daughter in New York.

Woodwards Celebrate Twenty Fifth Anniversary At Home
Mr and Mrs Charles Woodward entertained on Thursday evening at their South Main residence to mark twenty five years of marriage since May 17 1892. Mrs Woodward formerly Miss Katie Jenkins daughter of the late William Jenkins. Mr Woodward a Frederick Md native. Guests enjoyed in the parlor with a buffet supper and gifts mostly silver.

James A Rogers Dead Near Town
Retired farmer James A Rogers died at 6 30 this morning at the home of his son in law and daughter Mr and Mrs C R Hodgson near the city after a long illness in his seventy fifth year. He is survived by two daughters Mrs Charles R Hodgson and Mrs C C Adams and one sister Mrs Hannah Lewis. Funeral Sunday meeting at 2 pm at the Hodgsons home with services at Bethel Church to follow and burial at Grange Hall cemetery.
