Intelligence confirms the death of Harry Schindler a well known junk dealer from Winchester. He died yesterday at his home 270 Frederick Street Hagerstown Maryland after a long illness. He built a large junk and fur trade in the area and once ran a Winchester grocery. He suffered a tragic loss when a child burned to death in an oil coal accident. he had recently moved to Hagerstown leaving his junk business to his son.
Messrs. Eugene V. Weems Jr and Bernard Grove departed for Washington to begin duty with the Washington Ambulance Corps a unit of the army under Dr Ryan Devereux. The group will affiliate with the American Red Cross and includes about 155 members. Plank, son of Mr and Mrs Frank Plank, also signed and awaits departure, while Weems, Grove and Plank hold ties to local institutions.
