Thieves Hit Local Stations And Homes In String Of Breakins

A rash of breakins reported from 11 p.m. to 8:30 a.m. targeted the Valley Avenue Gulf Station at Weems Lane plus Leisure Times Recreation Center and a Mountain Falls trailer. AEC to resume underground tests with new safety rules

Size Rules On Precincts Do Not Force 500 Voter Count

Virginia Attorney General Andrew Miller said counties cannot dodge buying voting machines by creating precincts under 500 registered voters. There is no requirement every precinct must have 500 voters, and the 100 to 5,000 voter range governs precinct size. Counties with 500 or more voters must have machines by Oct. 1, 1976, under new laws.

Winchester teen wins at International Science Fair in Kansas City

A 17 year old from Winchester won first and second prizes at the International Science Fair in Kansas City Missouri. Will Sager, Handley High School junior, secured first from the Society of Photographic Scientists and Engineers and second in Earth and Space Science. His exhibit, Determination of Stellar Magnitudes by Photography, beat over 2000 entries and earned a $100 bond and a $75 prize. He earned the trip by winning the Shenandoah Valley Regional Science Fair and is accompanied by Jonathan Wilson of Handley’s Science Department. He is the son of Dr and Mrs Stanley Sager of Jefferson Street.

Court Asked To Stay Postal Hike
