Richmond May 13 The State Water Control Board ordered American Viscose to install treatment equipment by 1949 to treat all waste water entering the Shenandoah River. Front Roy announced that a Full Gospel Tabernacle church will be erected on Elm Street between Woodland Avenue and Berryville Lane at an estimated cost of 6000 dollars. Winchester council granted permission with a donated lot from Lawrence E. Fern, though water and sewer facilities were lacking. The plan includes a septic system and future sewer hookup with a 450 seat auditorium. The congregation of about 100 will borrow funds to build a concrete block structure and will meet in a temporary hall on Cameron Street until completion.
