Hugh Mortimer Nelson leading farmer, fruit grower and hunt clubman of Clarke county dies from injuries after a Saturday accident near Boyce. His wife, also injured, shows improvement. funeral set for 4 PM Wednesday at Millwood. He was 38, son of the late Hugh M Nelson Sr, longtime Clarke county resident.

In Sioux City Iowa on May 11 a narcotic in food intended for a jailed drug suspect is believed to have killed 16 year old Louis B. De Jarlais. Messenger boys who shared the sandwiches and coffee fed the drugged drink to him before his death while awaiting his morning awakening.
Six armed men robbed the First National Bank in Sidney at opening time and took about $20,000. Two robbers waited with the car while another guarded the door. three employees were ordered to open the vault. The bandits fled in a car toward Cincinnati as police from nearby towns pursued.
