Captain Rodgers files divorce suit in Harford County Circuit Court alleging abandonment since December 1914. The couple married at Annapolis and have an eight year old daughter Helen. Rodgers, serving in Baltimore, cites a deliberate separation with no reconciliation in sight.
Mrs. Charlotte Taylor Murnan a member of one of Winchester’s oldest families died at her residence 609 South Market street after a long illness. Widow of James Murnan a Baltimore and Ohio Railroad employee she lived alone since his death about five years ago. Survived by two brothers George and Taylor of this city. Funeral 3 p m Friday at Braddock Street Methodist Episcopal Church South with Rev B V Switzer and Rev Charles Adey. interment Mount Hebron Cemetery.

Lieutenant Colonel W W Whitside of the U S Army praises the Winchester Virginia fire department for rapid response to a deadly Morgan cottage fire on West Water Street. He commends equipment esprit de corps and efficiency noting the department minimized deaths of Jerry and Mary Morgan and that no metropolitan company could have responded more promptly.
