The Hindenburg, largest zeppelin, completed its first North Atlantic trip in a record 61 hours 53 minutes. It landed at Lakehurst at 5:23 AM after passing New York Harbor and circling Manhattan. Dr Hugo Eckener waved to about 5,000 witnesses as ground crews secured the ship for mooring and the hangar was cleared of the previous airship Los Angeles.
