Government data show wholesale prices up eight tenths of a percent in April led by a 4.2 percent jump in farm prices and a 1.9 percent rise in processed foods. The report signals higher living costs ahead with consumer goods up 1.4 percent and consumer foods up 3.9 percent from a year earlier.

IRS data show five millionaires among more than 3,000 Americans with $50,000+ in 1974 income who paid no federal income tax. The year 1974 had 244 people with $200,000+ AGI paying no taxes, down from 1973.
