A Frederick County man, John W. Brown I, 41, of Front Royal Road, is jailed in Winchester for the murder of his wife Ruth O. Brown 38. She was shot about 9 this morning at the family residence. A number of children exist in the family. The shooting is under investigation and no formal information released. Arraignment set for Friday at 2 p.m. Bond set at 20000.
May Mills E Godwin Jr approves raises of 1200 and 1600 dollars yearly for interns and residents at MCV Richmond and UVA medical schools. Effective July 1 the salaries rise to 6200 and 6600 dollars, affecting 454 interns and residents.
