About 2,100 Fairfax County residents signed a petition urging a referendum to switch from the county executive form to a county manager system. If petitions are valid, a circuit court must order a vote within 90 days.
Danville witnesses return Monday before a three judge annexation court as the city seeks to annex 14 square miles of Schoolfield in Pittsylvania County. The county opposes the move while city officials outline plans for new schools services library expansion and recreation for the area. Ten witnesses have testified and five more are scheduled.
