Alexandria Man Dies In I 81 Crash
Marcus Hal Pruitt 45 of Alexandria died at Winchester Memorial Hospital after a head on crash on I 81 just below Route 7 exit 850. Joyce Williams 22 of Roanoke and her infant Roger Williams were treated at Winchester with serious injuries. Three year old Carolyn Williams and Roger Dennis Williams 23 were also injured. State Trooper Jenkins said Pruitt entered I 81 near Route 7 and crashed after about one tenth of a mile.

Judging Begins in Park For 605 Antique Autos
More than 600 antique cars from 13 states were judged at the Antique Automobile Club of America Eastern National Spring Meet in Senseny Park during Shenandoah Apple Blossom Week. Nancy Anne Hardin opened the event as Queen Shenandoah 42nd ribbon cutter. 22 classes were judged from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with trophies and a banquet tonight at Lee Jackson Restaurant.

Gov Mills E Godwin Jr signed 28 of 30 bills from the special constitutional revision session. Two bills remain unsigned and could die by pocket veto at midnight Monday. Winchester Festival Ends With Large Yet Peaceful Crowd
Crowds estimated 100000 to 150000 filled Winchester for the Apple Blossom event as police reported few arrests and minimal disturbances. Chief F M Funk praised orderliness while traffic directing and official escorts occupied officers. One fatal traffic crash and several injuries occurred. rescue volunteers treated the injured and a bus doorway accident caused minor injuries to a visiting boy.
