Oversee by Crack Overseas Drum and Bugle Corps of Washington a large group of musicians lines up for a major parade with many outfits and more participants joining in.
The Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival features the Trail of the Pink Petals grand parade led by Queen Francoise May of Belgium Shenandoah the Tenth with a court of thirty two princesses from a dozen states. The event draws 100000 spectators and includes military cadet corps civic floats and pageantry through Winchester ending at the fairgrounds. The Queen will ride a white chariot flanked by maids of honor and the Queen's vocal ensemble from Harrisonburg State Teachers College with the ball that night at Shenandoah Valley Academy.
Miss Francoise May of Belgium was crowned Queen Shenandoah the Tenth at the Apple Blossom Festival. She is the second European girl to hold the title, after Miss Patricia Dacre Morton of Winchester England in 1931, with a line of eight sovereigns dating to 1924 including Miss Elizabeth Steck and Miss Helen Ames Washington.
Veterans organizations deny permission for World War veterans in uniform to solicit funds during the Apple Blossom Festival. VFW Commander A. Lee Coble and American Legion Commander Bernard M. Sullivan urge the public that such solicitations are not authorized by local posts or veterans groups.
Offices of the Winchester Milling Corporation were closed for the holiday this afternoon and no reports were received on the grain markets of Chicago and Baltimore. Miss Margaret B Hardy supervisor at Eastern High School and bank instructor, was robbed of 760 dollars in cash and checks near Mechanics Savings Bank on Ninth and East Capitol streets. Three suspects including Andrew Conley and Evelyn On were arrested with over 175 dollars found. police describe a black canvas bag containing the funds and a masked gunman as the motive.
Herman H. Hable owner of Hable's Palace Theatre hires Harry Truberville and Richard Rainey to film the Tenth Apple Blossom Festival from start to finish. Miss Francoise May Queen Shenandoah the Tenth is shown arriving at Doctor Boyd's home. Scenes rush to Washington for development and will be shown on screen tomorrow and at the Palace Friday and Saturday.

Local and visiting firemen join in, with bands along the line and three cash prizes for top comic displays. Visiting fire companies in uniform. local firemen may choose. A silver trumpet prize awaits the best looking visiting company.
The Jordan Springs hotel opens with a two night festival featuring dance on Wednesday and Thursday. Music will be performed by the Pennsylvania Ramblers. The event promises lively entertainment for guests and locals alike.
