Fluorine Dosage Finely Adjusted Says Physician
Dr F J McClure of the National Institute of Dental Research cautions parents to follow medical directions when giving fluoride tablets to children and to keep bottles away from curious youngsters. He notes a narrow margin between beneficial and harmful fluoride levels, with optimal prevention at one part per million in drinking water and mottled enamel starting around one and a half parts per million. He reports many fluoride tablets are on the market but should not be used if water already contains one half to part per million fluoride.

Clarke Forestry Demonstration Showcases Estimating Contest
Clarke county forestry committee led by Forester R L Dunn staged a farm demonstration at F H McAtee’s farm. Ted May won the estimating contest missing the correct board foot by 18. Exhibits included a portable flame thrower and a forest service fire pump. Attendees included J W Olcott A C Kelly H M Davis J C Huffman R M Cross veterans class FFA groups from Boyce and Berryville and many farmers. A similar event occurred at Greenfield Farm in Warren County with 100 attendees led by Dunn.

Virginia adopts four lane plan using existing roads
The State highway department expands traffic capacity by building four lane divided highways alongside two lane roads. Existing routes are upgraded while traffic flows on the old road. About 45 miles of dual highway and 17 bridges funded under a postwar plan. Traffic volumes exceed 1,000 vehicles daily on many roads.

Snider Named Judge for 14th Spring Field Trials
Benton Snider has agreed to judge the 14th spring field trials of the Cumberland Valley Field Trial Club in Hagerstown on Saturday and Sunday. R. E. Christian of Deerfield, Va. will serve as the second judge with stakes for puppies shooting dogs and all age.
