Virginia License Sales Start Monday in Winchester Area

Miss Debbie Creel daughter of Mr and Mrs Granville Creel examines two state licenses at Winchester showing regular auto licenses and a reflectorized test license. The reflectorized type will be issued on a random limited basis to study its effectiveness in accident cases from 1971. Miss Creel is a James Wood High School senior and a secretary at Winchester Automotive Inc.

Frederick County Motor Vehicle Tags On Sale This Monday

Frederick County decals go on sale Monday at 9 a.m. in the Treasurer's office with a May 1 deadline. Passenger cars cost $10. state plates must be bought before county tags. Applications at the commissioner of revenue in the county office building require prior payment of 1970 personal property tax and bringing state registrations. Tags are issued after payment to the treasurer, then affixed on the windshield not more than three inches above its base. County offices run 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and Saturdays 9 to noon. Middletown and Stephens City residents license in their towns. Additional tag fees vary by vehicle type and weight, with caps at $10.
