Fire damages eight room dwelling near Winchester
Fire believed set by attic wiring caused about 1500 dollars damage to the eight room frame home of Mr. and Mrs. Co W Gruber on Martinsburg Pike, north of Winchester. Mrs Gruber woke to crackling flames and evacuated family as Rouss fire company and others confined the blaze to the attic with water damage on the second floor and parlor.

Fractured Pelvis Develops Hours After Accident
Herbert Franklin 19 of Stephenville was driving a truck when the door opened on a curve near Double Churches. He and his sister Anna Franklin 16 were thrown. Anna suffered facial injuries while Herbert was later found with a fractured pelvis and admitted to Winchester Hospital after regaining consciousness hours later.

Funeral services set for Herbert Jack son Mills 28 of 241 Fairfax Lane after a self-inflicted gunshot wound near his home. Coroner Dr. J R Troxell ruled it a suicide. Virginia House approves anti Truman bill as revolt grows
RICHMOND March 8 The House privileges and elections committee approved Gov Tuck anti Truman bill 11 to 1 and sent it to the House floor. Floor Leader E Blackburn Moore predicted revolt against President Truman has grown to a degree where the law may not be used. Clarke county delegate said Virginia delegation to the convention will walk if Truman is the nominee. One negative vote was cast by Walter N Hopkins. Armistead Boothe plans a radio address at 10:30 p.m. tonight in support of the election bill. The action was in open session and followed a four hour public hearing.
