Wheat Export Pact Sets Price Ceiling at $2 a Bushel
A 36 nation wheat agreement set a $2 a bushel ceiling on exports from the United States Canada and Australia. The five year pact establishes a minimum price starting at $1.50 and declining to $1.10 by 1949 with annual drops of ten cents. Countries importing the wheat pledge to buy up to 500 million bushels from the three exporters. Canada would ship 230 million bushels US 85 million and Australia 85 million.

Bragg Inquest Reveals Death From Chest Injury
Nine witnesses testified at an inquest into the death of Furman Bragg of Brucetown. Coroner Dr. J R Troxell said Bragg died from complications of a chest injury suffered earlier in the week with undisclosed details of how it occurred.
