Local report outlines the suicide of W Taylor Wall at his home yard with a pistol. Police were called to the scene and the body showed a bullet wound to the head. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
W Taylor Wall a 52 year old former coal dealer and apple farmer was found dead in his yard by his sister and a neighbor. A pistol bullet through the right temple caused instantaneous death according to Dr. Swimley. An inquest was deemed unnecessary. Wall had suffered nervous illness in recent months and had undergone sanatorium treatment near Baltimore. He leaves three sisters and a brother in the medical corps. A son named William Wall.
President Coolidge signed a measure authorizing the director of the Veterans Bureau to lend money to World War veterans. Corantes A. J. Noel of Robert Y. Conrad Post, American Legion, reported on the occasion.
The Sarah Zane Fire Company held a memorial meeting for the late Captain Rob Gray, with officers named to prepare commemorative remarks. The unit will attend the funeral in a body, escorting his remains from the Gray residence to Centenary Reformed Church, with delegations expected from Cumberland Valley and nearby towns.

In Madison Wisconsin on March 5 a white man fired on an automobile on the city outskirts killing Allen Henderson a 55 year old Negro chicken farmer and his son Walter aged 20. The elder was shot in a barn and the son as he crossed a field. Henderson's wife hid behind a barricaded door to escape.
Isaiah Nichols formerly of Madison County Virginia was arrested in Winchester Friday trying to cash a forged check at a bank. He was held for the grand jury after failing to post bond and jailed. Nichols is suspected of passing forged checks in Harpers Ferry and Charles Town years ago and fleeing the state.
An order in Frederick County Circuit Court authorizes J. F. Huber and Rebecca B. Huber to adopt Daisy Ellen Graham, previously a ward of the Virginia Children's Home Society.
The First Christian Church plans a 11 o'clock morning reception for a large group of new members. Baptismal services for those wishing to be baptized tomorrow, and an immersion service next Sunday. Parents may bring children for consecration tomorrow. Rev. B. J. Earp will preach and lead the reception. Rev. Dr. McDaniel Howsare will deliver the Sunday night conclusion titled The Unfinished Task.
The destroyer King en route from Boston to Guantanamo was badly damaged off Cape Hatteras. It arrived at Norfolk navy yard for repairs where a week is needed to restore mast rigging signal lights and radio antenna. The ship lay to for 12 hours during the storm and blizzard.

Edward McGuire Jones longtime civil engineer from an old Frederick county family died after months of illness at Washington Inn Winchester at age about 64. Survived by brother Alexander T. Jones and sisters Lucy Elizabeth Mary Jones and Mrs Harry Doll. Funeral at Christ Episcopal Church in Winchester with burial in Mount Hebron.

Edward Moore aged 20 was jailed in Thomaston for disorderly conduct by his father Policeman Jack Moore. Moore died last night in the Thomaston jail after an apparent cigarette fire on his bedding. The father found him dead when he returned to the jail to release him for work.
A Democratic Senators caucus in Washington on March 6 declared that prohibition should not be viewed as a party issue. Senate floor leader Robinson of Arkansas said differences among states on political subjects exist and that prohibition evidence is not partisan in nature.
The funeral services for Mrs. Sarah C. Dix will be held Monday at 2 PM from 14 North Kent Street. Rev. Murray D. Mitchell of Braddock Street Methodist Episcopal Church South and Rev. Robert B. Nelson of Christ Episcopal Church will officiate. Six pallbearers will be chosen from local neighbors. Interment is at Mount Hebron Cemetery.

Dr Ira Remsen president emeritus of Johns Hopkins University died in Carmel California after a brief illness. He was a noted chemist educator and editor of the American Chemical Journal since 1879 and received honors from France Britain and the American Chemical Society. He retired in 1913 due to ill health and spent recent years traveling and revising his textbooks.
Dr B W Miller meat and milk inspector for Winchester and veterinarian was stricken with cerebral hemorrhage today while on duty. He was taken to Memorial Hospital unconscious but held by friends to have a chance of recovery. He is noted for his competent work with the milk and meat supply and his service to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
Detectives guard 14 year old David Frechtlinger son of wealthy coal operator J Frechtlinger after a letter threatened kidnapping unless money was paid. The elder Frechtlinger reported the note to police and kept the demanded amount undisclosed. The family operates Frechtlinger Coal Company mines in West Virginia.
A child dies from injuries after a club attack at her home. Her mother Mrs Ridgeway and sister Katherine Ridgeway were also assaulted. the sister remains in serious condition while the mother expects a full recovery. Louis Boersig was arrested based on a description from Mrs Ridgeway and held for safekeeping. Authorities cite robbery as the motive.
CHICAGO March 5 Gene Hunter an 18 year old bandit queen found guilty of robbing a taxicab driver was sentenced to 3 to 20 years imprisonment by Judge Harry B Miller. The judge over ruled a motion for a new trial declaring this will serve as an example to all girls tempted to a life of crime. Her accomplice Albert Weisbaum pleaded guilty weeks ago and is serving 3 to 20 years.
Wheeling divorcee Miss Lilian Toothman sues James Hawley 86 a wealthy retired broker for 300000 alleging breach of promise to marry. She says Hawley induced divorce from her husband under a marriage contract and paid court costs, then provided an apartment for her and four adopted children before repudiating the agreement. Hawley owns valuable real estate in the business district. Miss Elsie Carpenter suffers tonsillitis.

Miller Fletcher proprietor of the Jones Creamery and long-time Winchester businessman died at home at 37 Bust Piccadle Street after a lingering illness. He came up through the dairy business from boyhood, later owning and leading the creamery with deep local ties. Funeral services are set for Monday at 8 PM at his residence with Masonic burial rites at Mount Hebron Cemetery and an escort of Knights Templar.
