Harry K. Thaw of Pittsburgh plans to purchase the Kenilworth home and 55 acres near Lexington after touring Valley of Virginia properties with a New York attorney and local agent. He dug over 20 000 trees for Virginia Valley Orchard Company last year using a machine hoe nicknamed the rattling hoe, digging about four trees a minute. He is a Democrat and supports Al Smith for president and Wm G McAdoo for vice president.
Measures moved today to relieve tenants of a building whose water was cut off after the owner failed to pay water taxes. The owner was summoned from a nearby town and arrangements were made to pay arrears and restore water. Meanwhile residents receive supply from a nearby source.
Two secretive weddings completed in Winchester joined Ruth E Reed and Wilbur R Johnson with Vergie P Carpenter and Charles E Johnston. The couples, from Middletown and local families, plan a three week Ohio honeymoon visiting relatives before starting new lives.

New York June 26 A tentative draft of the Democratic platform including alternative proposals on the Ku Klux Klan and the League of Nations was submitted to the platform sub committee of eleven. Homer S Cummings and Senator Key Pittman prepared it after late night discussions. The sub committee aimed to finish and present the draft to the full platform committee that day.
