Funeral director Harry C. A. Funk dies after long illness
Harry C. A. Funk, a Winchester undertaker and member of Funk & Son, died at his home at 101 South Loudoun Street after a long period of ill health. He aided the colored cemetery project and donated the burial ground to the city’s Colored people. He leaves his father J. N. W. Funk, wife Georgia McKloskey, and three children Harold Helen and Mrs. Holmes Grim. Funeral arrangements are pending with details to be set by the family.

Youth Held in Connection With Death Near Uniontown
Roy Bakewell, 24, of South Brownsville, arrested in Donora in the June 12 death of Harold M. Dusenberry, Morgantown road engineer. Dusenberry died after a skull fracture from a fall from a car en route to Uniontown. Bakewell admitted being with the victim and named another man as a person of interest. $277 reportedly on Dusenberry the night he was found, $8 found on him. Detective Bell said a McKeesport girl led to Bakewell’s address after Dusenberry was found hurt near Shady Grove Park.

John J Anderson Dies in Middletown at Seventieth Year
John J. Anderson of Winchester ancestry died after a six month illness at his Middletown home in Frederick County. He was 69 and active in plastering with his father before running his own business. He belonged to the Friendship Fire Company, which tolled its engine house bell. He was twice married, leaving a daughter in East Radford and a daughter and widow in Middletown. Funeral services will be held at Grace Methodist Episcopal Church South with interment in Green Hill Cemetery.
