Russell Rites Are Conducted This Afternoon
The funeral for Miss Lucy Ward en Russell who died Tuesday in her South Stewart Street apartment was held at Loudoun Street Presbyterian Church at 4 p.m. The Rev. E. B. McGukin officiated. She was a longtime civic church and business figure in Winchester and a charter member and president of the Stonewall Memorial Association and a leader in the United Daughters of the Confederacy. Interment followed in Mount Hebron Cemetery.

Shepherd May Return Home By Tomorrow
Taylor Barr said he received a letter from City Sergeant C. Lee Barr stating that barring delays he will reach Winchester about noon Friday with George Shepherd, wanted on a $420 fraud charge.
