RICHMOND AP Virginia officials plan to appeal a federal judge’s ruling that bans using public funds for pupil grants in Surry County The decision bars direct funding to students for schooling and related programs and prompts a higher court review by state authorities.

Army Sgt. David R. Aisel, 30, of Columbus Ohio was Electrocuted while erecting a radio antenna at Camp Pickettt during summer training with the 83rd Infantry Division. An investigation ordered. Aisel was attached to Headquarters and Headquarters Co 8th Medium Tank Division 68th Armored 83rd Division. He was among 6000 troops in training at Camp Pickettt and at Camp A P Hill Virginia.

A Winchester resident construction worker was fatally injured in a non collision accident at an I-95 work site west of Fredericksburg yesterday. The driver, identified as Mr. Diamond, was operating a dump truck. No further details were available today.

Washington AP reports Barry Goldwater has 694 delegates, 39 above the 655 needed for the Republican nomination. The final Montana district added 14 Goldwater votes, with Scranton at 138, Rockefeller 105, Lodge 45, Nixon 8, and 84 uncommitted or favorite sons. A Maryland reassessment raised Scranton to nine delegates, as Goldwater still holds five Maryland votes.
