Pettingill Bill Endorsed by Maj. Robertson
The petitioned Pettingill bill H R 6472 to end compulsory block booking in film rentals gains support from Maj A Willis Robertson and local civic groups. The letter from Winchester Civic League confirms Robertson’s backing and notes hearings and report timing. Block booking is explained as forcing theatres to buy unseen films in large blocks, limiting manager control of programming.
