The 1827 Old School Presbyterians built near Kent and Water now Boswell Streets formed the Kent Street church. Stonewall Jackson drew Virginia ties to the church while serving the Valley District command in 1861. He wintered with Rev. Dr Graham. Jackson was an arm and friend in Winchester. The Kent Street site later held the Byrd offices and Winchester Evening Star.
