Raid Nets Four As Officers Pry Into Complaints
Four persons are held for hearing at 10 oclock tomorrow before Judge Donald Weems on charges from a raid on a house on Indian Alley between Cork and Clifford streets yesterday afternoon. Arbutus Combs Lucy Grim and John North face charges of maintaining and conducting a disorderly house. Private James H Powell of Co A 13th Engineers stationed at Fort Humphrey is also held. Mrs George Hott of North Kent street was fined 50 dollars and given a three month suspended jail sentence conditioned on leaving Winchester within 24 hours due to five children.
