Whitacre couple announces the engagement of Margaret Marie Mason to Edward Kline son of Mrs Vivian Kline Romney WV A wedding is planned for 5 o clock June 24 at the Salem Church Timber Ridge
Alicia Byrd named campaign chairman for the Rocking Marathon at the War Memorial Building on June 30 to raise one million dollars for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The event runs 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. with VIA support and a national bike ride planned July 3 from Washington to the coast. A one million dollar check will be delivered to Danny Thomas in Los Angeles on September 1. Donations may be sent to VIA Internationale. Contact Alicia Byrd or Cindy Davis for more information.
Mrs Boyd Headley Jr shared her brownie method as readers requested. The instructions use 3 squares of chocolate 2 sticks of butter 1 cup flour 2 cups sugar 4 eggs baked 15 to 20 minutes at 350 in a 9 by 12 pan lined with wax paper. The cool then invert top with powdered sugar and cut into small squares.

Mr and Mrs Charles Ramsburg of Berryville celebrate four sons graduating this year Richard from Roanoke College on May 28 with Charles Leonard Ramsburg Jr of Richmond in attendance John graduated from Lynchburg College last weekend. The Ramsburg family attended both commencements.

Mr and Mrs Aubrey H Waters announce the engagement of their daughter Carolyn Jean Waters to James Anderson Stimmel Jr son of Mr and Mrs James A Stimmel Sr both of Clearbrook. Carolyn Jean Waters is a 1972 Clarke County High School graduate and will enroll at Lord Fairfax Community College this fall. He is a 1972 Virginia Tech graduate with a major in Animal Science and works in dairy farming with his father. No wedding date set.
