Doctors Question Sterilization After Many Caesarean Sections

A study of 130 women with three or more prior Caesarean deliveries questions the practice of sterilizing after multiple pregnancies. They report 464 prior Caesareans and 44 prior normal births, with seven fetal deaths in 130 deliveries and only one death linked to uterine scar rupture. The researchers conclude cumulative Caesareans alone do not justify sterilization if no defective scar is present.
