Four-Block Beachfront Fire Destroys Concessions at Seaside Heights
A northeast wind driven blaze devoured a four block area of Seaside Heights beachfront concessions, causing about a million dollars in damage. Some 150 firefighters from a 15 mile radius battled the two and half hour fire, which leveled 84 stands and damaged three bars and the Carousel landmark. Four firemen suffered smoke inhalation and a faulty electric sign near the Pier restaurant sparked the blaze.

Front Royal Man Charged in Auto Death of Graduate
A Front Royal man, John Otis Kaufman, 34, faces negligent homicide and drunken driving charges after the auto death of 2nd Lt. Charles R.
