Clarke planners hear request for overnight camping zones
Robert Pidgeon, campground owner in Clarke County, told the Clarke planning commission that zones allowing overnight or short extended camping are needed while urging inclusion of sewage and trash regulations to prevent abuse. The advisory decision rests with the planners. Also noted, Judge Robert K. Woltz disqualified himself from a land dispute involving C. L. Robinson Corp and the Frederick County School Board. A second judge from the 26th Circuit will likely hear the case. In Front Royal a two car crash in the A and P lot caused heavy damage. a child was treated for a head bump and damages were estimated at 2000 for one car and 1500 for the other.

Darlington Robbery Targeted Winchester Police Search
A black male robbed the night clerk at the Darlington Motor Inn just after midnight. Ellis Shanholtz, 63, of Capon Bridge West Virginia, was knocked to the floor and later treated for contusions after the robber pried open the cash drawer containing about 150 dollars. Police, aided by the Frederick County K-9 Unit and deputies, traced the suspect’s scent and continued checking leads.

LFPDC Advances Budget and Plans for 1978-79
