Rudolph Duringer, convicted of murdering Virginia Brannen a taxi dancer, was sentenced to die in the electric chair at Sing Sing for the week of July 13. Fire Damages Residence on South Kent Street
A fire started in a clothes room on the upper floor causing several hundred dollars in damage to the home of Robert Stryker on South Kent street shortly before 8 this morning. The blaze required full fire department response and booster tanks were used. Assistant Fire Warden Fred Goss suffered a dislocated thumb when a door jammed against his hand.
