Curtis and Garner revoke permit of an organization found to have communist tendencies. Police reserves are deployed for special duty in Washington. Men are fed in Maryland as part of the security response.
Pelham D. Glassford, superintendent of police, was warned by Police Commissioner Herbert G. Crosby that further sheltering and feeding the bonus marchers could lead to his dismissal by the White House. Officials said Congress and other officials criticized his bivouac plan as encouraging the march. Glassford planned to continue housing and feeding the veterans until Thursday morning unless official orders stop him.
West Virginia veteran G E Lh Deborn, 35, a shell shocked World War veteran, stabbed two fellow prisoners in Rockingham jail after escaping calm. Raines and Rosser received non life threatening injuries. Deborn claimed the officers were gangsters and he feared kidnappers. More than fifty bonus marchers moved through toward Washington as police prepared for veterans demonstrations.
The June term opened with no cases heard and no juries called as Judge Williams set Monday June 27 for a hearing on the will of the late Scott Grant. Relatives seek to void the will over an allegedly forged endorsement while beneficiaries press for validation. A separate $5,000 damage claim by Emma Marie Bledsoe against R L Wall and R E Ayler, tied to a barb wire accident at Stephens City High School, was not scheduled.
The funeral for Hunter Royston of Berryville who died in a late Sunday night auto crash near Abrams Creek will be held at Berryville Baptist Church at 2 PM Wednesday. Rev. Dr. L. A. Parker will conduct services with interment in Green Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers include Preston Kercheval Julian Glasscock Thomas F. Hardesty Robert Hunter Hardesty Harvey Fishpaw William Carter Frank Humston William Fenton Raymond Bell Ammy Bell. Royston's body lies at Enders funeral parlors. Companions James Shepherd and Smith McFillen, also of Berryville, who were treated at Memorial Hospital, were reported improved and expected to be discharged soon.
New York June 7 stock market opened feeble though showing slightly better resistance than yesterday. Bond market stayed firm while dollar held firm and wheat faced pressure. Sterling cables opened at 3.6854 dollars and call money rose to 24 percent.
The Senate rejected President Hoover's furlough substitute, proposing one month unpaid leave for annual salaried officers and a five day work week with proportional pay cuts for per diem workers. The vote leaves the 10 percent salary cut on all government salaries over 1,000 dollars in the economy bill.

A Muncie Indiana squadron of the Bonus Expeditionary Forces traveled in three touring cars and a truck en route to Washington. About 20 men waved American flags and urged Congress to pass legislation granting $2 billion in additional adjusted service certificates. They passed through Winchester, received coffee, and refueled before continuing on U S Route 50 toward the capital. The men, unemployed, sought the extra bonus money to live on for months.
John D. Rockefeller Jr., long a temperance advocate, brands the eighteenth amendment a failure and urges both major parties to include a repeal plank in their platforms. He hopes state conventions ratify such a plank, removing the issue from partisan politics.

The funeral of Carrie Stokes Dyke wife of D F Dyke and daughter of John and Harriet Stokes of Reliance Virginia was held Sunday afternoon at the Church of Christ West Cork Street. Rev F B Sapp and Rev W L Dudley conducted services. Interment followed at Mount Hebron Cemetery with pallbearers named. The Martinsburg West Virginia quartet sang Rock of Ages Going Down the Valley and Going Home. Out‑of‑town mourners included Mr and Mrs Walter R Miller Mrs Fannie Hart of Hagerstown and Mr and Mrs Howard Cornwell and daughter Irene of Front Royal. Relatives in Sabina Ohio could not attend.
Mrs Lula Bradshaw widow of J T Bradshaw of Summit Point West Virginia died at the home of her daughter Mrs Charles Sechrist in Charles Town on Monday June 6 at 9 50 am age 64 after years of ill health She was a daughter of the late Jesse N and Mary Russell of Clarke County Virginia She is survived by two brothers Lillie Russell Berryville and Hutton Russell Clarke County one sister Mrs F H Swimley Brucetown and one daughter Mrs Charles Sechrist Charles Town Funeral will be from the daughter s home in Charles Town with services at the Presbyterian Church at 2 30 pm Wednesday Interment Knee Hill Cemetery Berryville Pallbearers named.
Five people perished in a crash in Collingswood New Jersey when a car collided with an ambulance carrying a injured three year old girl to a hospital. The dead include Richard J. Bloemker 40 Haddonfield policeman John Knorr and A Rodeker 45 Perth Amboy plus two unidentified women. Injured include Emma B age 3 and Officer Frank T. Tucker 26 both from Haddonfield. Police believe Rodeker Sr was returning from Georgetown University commencement with his wife and other daughter.
