Only 4 TV Variety Shows Returning This Season
AP television critic notes the 1971-72 season will feature only four surviving variety shows from an initial 15. Large-cost programs struggle amid economic pressure, while newer entries like Make Your Own Kind of Music Sonny and Cher Show and Val Doonican Show vie for audience. Connie Stevens appears on 14 planned episodes. Des O Connor returns to NBC.
