Edward McC Williams Berryville attorney will be the orator and will attend with H F P Byrd Jr editor of The Winchester. Dellinger is noted as the last surviving Confederate veteran.
Boy Scouts of Winchester will assist with graveside flower placements for Confederate Memorial Day tomorrow. Daughters demand Confederate flags on display and flags are available for sale at George W. Kurtz and Boyd's Drug Store.
A 95th birthday celebration in November may keep a veteran from riding in the parade as he visits his daughter in Clarke County. Health reportedly allows participation if timing permits. Paris reports Allied forces in Dunkirk have destroyed all movable war materials and rendered coastal areas along the French Belgian front unusable before withdrawal. Berlin cites German high command claiming 40,000 prisoners after heavy fighting at the escape port.
Five men pleaded guilty in Frederick County Circuit Court to arson robbery and assault. Lawrence Lake and Downing Drummond each drawn one year and a day for two counts of breaking and entering at Clarence Lemley’s Stephens City restaurant. William Henrietta received two years for arson plus one year and a day on two breaking and entering counts. Julian Campbell got two years for arson in the Stephens City colored schoolhouse fire. Lloyd Rees received eight years for assault and robbery of Philip Shade. Several sentences run concurrently. Phil Gold indicted yesterday morning on related charges.

Doyle W. Marshall 23 was killed when his truck struck a parked vehicle on Route near Burlington in Keyser West Virginia early today. Hospitalized with serious injuries were Leon Murray 18 Hartsell McCue 18 and Elwood Rice 18 all of Keyser. Marshall was single and a son of James Marshall of Forman West Virginia.
Fifty seniors from Gladwin Rural Agriculture School with Superintendent W E Parker spent ten days touring Washington D C and Niagara Falls after a Saturday night stop at Appleway Camp in Kernstown. They attended church services, then continued their journey. The trip marks the school’s second such excursion and a second Winchester stop for the party.
